Brother Simion: CD foi gravado como forma de gratidão, diz produtor

O álbum Legado, do cantor e compositor paulista Brother Simion, não recebeu este título por acaso. Segundo o guitarrista Netinho, líder da banda Patmus, a história do disco, gravado por mais de um ano em São Paulo, é fruto da gratidão de vários músicos e artistas pela importância de Simion na história da música cristã brasileira.

Em entrevista ao Super Gospel, o produtor contou a história que envolve a gravação. Em 2014, Netinho e Simion se encontraram em um culto, e a partir daquele reencontro iniciaram-se os primeiros registros do álbum Legado, que marca a volta do músico ao meio fonográfico. A sua obra totalmente inédita mais recente tinha sido lançada em 2004.

“[…] no final deste culto, fui lá dar um abraço nele, fui perguntar sobre a família, os filhos e a esposa. Ele estava vendendo CDs usando um envelope. Aquilo mexeu muito comigo, porque pra mim o Simion é a história da música gospel no Brasil. E quando o vi vendendo um CD num envelopinho, ao final do culto, aquilo de certa forma me incomodou. O Simion merece muito mais do que isso, por tudo o que ele representa, por tudo o que ele é e por tudo o que ele fez”, disse Netinho.

Netinho afirmou que fez uma proposta de gravação gratuita para Brother, em seu estúdio. Simion disse que, antes, iria orar e quase um mês depois aceitou. As gravações ocorreram por mais de um ano e envolveram músicos que conheciam o músico desde os primeiros anos de sua carreira, quando foi líder do Katsbarnea e impulsionou o desenvolvimento do movimento gospel.
No disco, participaram músicos que participaram da extinta banda Troad, que tocaram com Simion no Katsbarnea e também ex-integrantes do Renascer Praise. A gravação, nas palavras de Netinho, envolveu amizade e desafios. “[…] o Simion é um cara muito musical e tem muita experiência. Ele tem 62 anos. Não há o que produzir. Ele traz tudo pronto na cabeça dele. Você só tem que entendê-lo”.

O músico afirmou que, para ele, a gravação foi uma espécie de gratidão a Brother que, segundo ele, esteve em sua vida em momentos bons e ruins. “[…] acho que no nosso meio gospel está faltando amigos. Quando nós perdemos esta essência da amizade e do respeito pelos artistas antigos, estamos desconsiderando a própria história da música. E o Brother Simion é parte desta história”, finalizou.

Stryper: detalhes e capa do novo álbum "Fallen"

O Stryper já anunciou há algum tempo que está em estúdio gravando o novo álbum, que se chamará "Fallen". A data de lançamento será dia 16 de outubro e o primeiro single, que será da música "Yahweh" sairá dia 06 de julho.

A arte da capa foi idealizada pelo próprio Michael Sweet, que mandou para o artista gráfico Stanis Decker (que também fez a arte de No More Hell To Pay), a ideia de Lúcifer sendo expulso do Céu.
